What goes into a good process tank
A tank is never just a container. The shape of the bottom decides whether it drains completely, the position of the nozzles decides how well it mixes, and the surface finish decides how quickly it can be cleaned. Sanitary applications usually call for polished stainless steel, sloped bottoms, spray balls for clean-in-place and welds ground smooth so that nothing can hide in a crevice.
Chemical service turns the question around. Here the main concern is compatibility, so tanks are made in polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, CPVC, FRP or stainless and mild steel depending on what will be stored or mixed. Jackets, coils, insulation, agitators, load cells and manways can all be added, and the right combination depends on your product and your process temperature.
Pressure and vacuum duty adds code requirements, inspection and documentation. We help you define the design conditions early so that quotations are comparable and there are no surprises when the tank reaches the plant floor.
