Hygienic valves and why they differ
In food, beverage and pharmaceutical plants a valve is a hygiene point as much as a flow device. Mixed proof valves let two different products pass through the same valve cluster at the same time, separated by a leakage chamber that is open to the atmosphere. Single seat valves are simpler and suit duties where only one medium is in contact. Aseptic valves add sterile barriers so that the line can be steamed and kept sterile.
Butterfly valves offer a compact, economical way to shut off or throttle large lines, and control valves turn a signal from a controller into a precisely positioned flow. Pigging systems recover product from the line at the end of a run, which reduces waste and cleaning water.
